I've just noticed the '09 Roadster i've bought in January still has its original tires on (11 years old, not so nice!)
I really want to change them, what kind of tire manufacturer is adviced for 16' rims?
Actually they are 205/55/16 W91 Avon ZZ3, i cannot find those tires anymore.

Thanks in advance!

I fit Dunlop SP sport because of the low noise level and excellent wet weather performance.
I know other will argue to Toyo Proxis.

I agree that Dunlop makes fine tyres at a reasonable price. I have made good experiences also with the Dunlop Bluresponse on a classic 911.

@katanazz are you looking for the best in class or the ones with a reasonable price/quality ratio (assuming that there are different choices)?

I fitted Avon ZV7’s on my Plus8 last year. Replaced the Yokohamas that were on. Yokohama weren’t doing a 60 profile, only 55 or less and as I didn’t want a lowering of ground clearance or affect speedo accuracy I moved to the Avons. They are performing well and not expensive. £325 for 5, bought from Blackcircles and fitted by my regular tyre place.

The price isn't a factor i'm actually looking at, the tire has to be reliable, grippy and must allow a return home if the weather isn't super nice.
It's the only "safety device" installed in the car, it has to be good.

Avon 205/55R16 ZV7's are factory OE on the 3.7 Roadsters with 7 x 16" rim option and I believe others. No complaints myself and they seem to be well regarded after market on most trads.

I've gone for Avons ZV7 on my trad, but with larger sidewall to match the current tires - 195 on front, and 205 on the back (65 aspect). Came to a smidge over £200 fitted (blackcircles)

Yes Toyo Proxes definitely , these are really good I'm wet or dry.

They are actually competition tyres made in a softer rubber than usual , but in a light car like a Morgan you won't wear them out , they will age age out well before then (unless you are actually competing on them)

The Morgan sprint and hill climb competitors use them and rate them highly . The only thing that stops me using them is they are not available in my size (205/60 x 15)

About £75 apiece from Black Circles

Good enough tyre and I know the wet grip rating is a very specific one, but I would avoid tyres with a C rating.
