Oh dear I have succumbed!! I was never much enamoured with the number plate that came with my roadster which included 56. So I thought of an appropriate number, contacted the DVLA and eighteen months later---yes eighteen months!! It appeared for auction yesterday and lo and behold apart from myself there were no other bidders!!! So I am now the proud owner of 1909 HM !!----I will have two sets of plates made one street legal (yawn) and the second which will share the same fixings in silver and black.
So far so good!
Now the only cloud on my horizon is how do I break the news to
SWMBO that our next holiday is on the front and back of my summer play thing? swmbo

Don't do what I did. The plates on all my cars have the same triple number and then the first three intials of my christian name.
On my 4/4. the numbers are 999 and I'm getting really fed up of being asked if I am a retired police officer!

Ah I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I've never been much of a fan of personalised number plates - I just never saw the point. But the last two cars I have bought have attracted lots of stick because of their plates.

The Landrover gets called BLO-COK (sorry mods). I couldn't believe my luck when I saw the Morgan had plates perilously close to SPAZ. No prizes for guessing what that was christened.

So I have relented and bought a suitable MOG plate smile

The plate now on my Roadster originally came with my BGT in 1980 when "1" plates were routinely issued. So although it means nothing I kept it. I've had one person point out that it spells "**HIV", which hadn't occurred to me. The Roadster came with a C2 xxx plate which I put on MrsW's Polo, (known as Thunderbird 4). Coincidentally this plate has my father's initials. He metaphorically fell off the edge of the world in 1956, and took the Hillman MInx with him. Not all bad then.
