Some of the older Morgans don't have bumpers fitted, just the big chrome overriders. Are they a Morgan part or are they from a parts bin that were used on other vehicles?

My 1980 4/4 has nothing on the front and just the small chrome overriders on the rear. I have a couple of alloy bumpers but they are a bit worse for wear (they are 40 years old!) so was thinking of going for just overriders instead.

I'm not an expert on the older cars, but the over-riders may be Morris Minor.

The current cars use a design similar to the AH Sprite rears, but the brackets differ.

The smaller over-riders like in ths picture are Ford - they're from a 107E (as is the bumper). You can get them from Classic Ford vendors much cheaper than the Morgan places.

Overall shape is similar to Morris Minor but the actual part that bolts to the bumper isn't. Which means if you fit them to a Morgan, they don't fit right.

Got round this by buying a set of Morris Minor ones with poor chrome, modifying them and having them rechromed.

It does, but Im just wondering if the previous owner had them made as you can have fogs fitted with usual style over riders ? just curious. :-)

The big ones are eye wateringly expensive!

Big Over Rider - £250

Compared to the small ones

Small Over Rider - £50
