Hello, i need to replace the ball joints on my 2012 and ordered the MK1 pre -84 as everyone said its the right one. but i just received them and the taper are to small.
The smallest part is approx 14 mm on the one i have and the one i received are approx 1 mm smaller 13 mm It looks for me that this one have the 84 and newer withe the bigger taper... Any one that knows if Morgan used different a-arms on the M3W and therefore it could be different sizes? its the stock a-arms and all as it was delivered from the factory.

I have just had a measure of a "new" old stock ball joint that I have as a spare, also QSJ1059S and that is 14mm at the top of the taper. Your problem is with the ball joints not the A arms. Have a check of the other joints that are not worn for lubricating grease inside the boot as they are usually dry and need some adding. New boots are available if they are starting to split.

They was not that bad but the strange thing was that it was two different brands on it from the factory and three of them was some bad china with bad rubber boots that was cracked, dry and rusty and one was with real rubber boot and totally a much better quality.(not the plastic/rubber they use in china....) I did a full renovation of the spindles and also corrected the bump steer that was on this earlier version....
I contacted the supplier and they will look into this. fact is i ordered the right number but received some with 13 mm taper. I wounder what i got....its state the correct number on the boxes...

After reading the threads on ball joints decided to get some so could possibly replace while we are in lockdown.
H3nri is coming up to 8 years old with 30,000km on clock.
Actually can't see anything wrong with existing but good to investigate

Found an online source in NZ and got them today. Ordered yesterday!

Seems i have same issue as here in that the end of taper is 13mm

Labelled as mini metro up to 84. Code GSJ 268. See pics

Any ideas on what might be correct part description? Ie 84 on?

Also got a couple of tie rod ends as gaiters are ruptured

Any thoughts guys?

They must be interchangeable. The QH details say that the QSJ1059S is comparable to a GSJ268. I have a QSJ1059S in an original QH box and it is certainly 14mm at the top of the taper, although their own spec says 13mm. As long as the taper seats fully and the nut clamps the joint fully without bottoming out, it should be OK.
