So my solution for the screws was to replace all but the one at the back, which is at an angle, with stainless steel dome headed bolts into some T nuts. I have done the same for the cover over the battery aperture but with shorter bolts. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/04/20/20200420_163932.md.jpg)

Good idea but how well does the plywood shelf now sit and latch down, on top of those bolt heads?

Doug, my shelf sits a little proud anyway because I have put a thin sheet of neoprene foam on the back. Just means I had to slacken off the screws on the latches half a turn

Be careful if you have screws holding the battery cover on. A dealer put a longer screw onto my car, it went into the main positive feed and caused a short with a cable I use to lock on luggage on the rear shelf. The carpets caught fire but fortunately I saved the car.
