I’ve read that overinflating the tyres will help to reduce flatspotting when the car is left for a while. I haven’t bothered to roll it out of the garage for over a month as I don’t particularly want to move other ( diesel) cars around. (DPF issues)

Views? I run the tyres at 22 normally?

Thanks John. I think I’ll put some air in later.

I have just suspended the insurance on the Morgan for a month. Unfortunately I could not back date it, my fault for not thinking of it when the lockdown started. I could not do the same with the Jag because it has been first under repair and then locked down at the dealers since the beginning of February. The dealer really should be responsible for any insurance issues but I have been advised against suspending the insurance when it is not safely locked up in my own garage.

Unfortunately we don't get the equivalent of SORN here as the tax is on ownership of a vehicle regardless of whether it is used or not. The Region of Lombardia has suspended payment of renewals but I don't think that the due dates will change so the suspension only helps cash flow and next year it will still be due on the usual date. At least I get a 15% discount because I have set up automatic payment from my bank account.

Because my Road Tax isn't stupid money, I think SORNing is more trouble than its worth.

I understand that you get a cheque as the refund. That means a trip to the bank to pay it in.

Why on earth they couldn't implement an on line suspension system is beyond me. Go on line...….tick the box for SORN...…..then every day SORNed is added on at the end.

When you're ready, Go on line...….untick the box for SORN, and away you go...…………...

My road tax expired November, although I kept the Morgan on the road the previous winter I got little use of it so decided to SORN with the intention to tax it from May. I suspect this may not now happen but I live in hope.
The car is still insured though, not worth the risk in my opinion to cancel it.

I roll the car into a new position every week or so to prevent any tyre issues.

Dave, but that's too simple for the lovely civil servants, they NEED complication!
