Hi guys, help needed again. I have just swapped my 4/4 for a +4 and would like to know the recommended pressure for its tyres. The car is fitted with Yokohama 205/60 R 15 tyres. Also whats the corect oil for the Duratec 2 litre engine.

My handbook for the Classic range gives 22psi as cold inflation pressure and does not differentiate by model or tyre size.(section 13.1 page 66)

It can depend upon the tyres you have and how flexible the side walls are/ how sticky the compound but most people run 21/22 psi for normal condtions.
I run 25 Psi with Yokos but they are fairly 'sticky' tyres and I like to have turn in oversteer, so a very hard back end breaking away helps this

Hi Jeepy, I have the same car as you......

TYRES- for me there is a balance between comfort and handling . I would suggest a MINIMUM of 22psi (and check regularly as on Morgans they do deflate over time), but find handling improves when inflated to 26psi, but you do feel the bumps! Try within that range for what suits you, also taking into account tyre condition and type of roads on which you do most of your driving.

OIL- just had mine serviced at the factory and they used Synth 5W-40 in my duratec 2L.

The book say 22psi for all, but on the bigger tyres I use 26psi. Turning the wheel at slow speeds is much easier with a few extra psi and probably less wearing on the tyres and mechanicals.

I run 25 psi on my 97 +4
Both to get over the speed bumps in the road but also as they do deflate over time. It gives me a buffer before I hit the 22 psi minimum at which point the car scrapes the bracket protecting the gearbox as I come up my steep drive into the garage.

Hi Jeepy, I have the same car and the pressure I keep is 18bar instead of 15 bar as indicated and I find this very confortable, with good grip and perfect consumption.

18 bar ? Surely you mean 1.8 bar = 26 psig and not 260 psig.
Tyres go pop at that pressure.
