Couldn’t have put it better myself Bitsobrits. Those of us with a history of British twin motorcycles know only too well about this topic. My current bike has a manual valve fitted on the tank discharge to prevent wet sumping, but I wouldn’t recommend it without a foolproof reminder or interlock, a tag on the handlebars does it for me.

OK, fixed the oil seal leak, so far. Only 20 miles on it so it isn't fair to say it is solid yet but I have high hopes.

I also vented the oil tank to a catch can and vented the cam chest so no back pressure in the system.

I added a sight tube to the oil tank so seeing what is in the tank is super easy.

https://youtu.be/rpdbZy-T7CQ I could not figure out how to get the YouTube video to pop up. I used the Full Editor and then the cli board to YouTube but no luck. Tried it with "https" and "http", neither worked.

Looks good. Is that Emil's vent kit?

Thank you. Yes, that is Emil’s vent kit. He has since modified the cam chest portion because of something I spotted and he found that there was a down path going to the catch can and it collected condensate. He is changing that to have a second separator at the cam chest and then venting it to the discharge tube of the first catch can.

It is a simple install and the drain tube from the can exits the bottom of the vehicle and that was the only reason I put the car on a lift to fasten down that tube from flapping.

I had the exact same problem of it weeping and, after a call to Emil, I ordered his kit. Now for Saturday to get here.

I changed the seal at the same time I installed the breather. Not positive if the seal replacement or the cam chest vent stopped the leak but now it is try.

I put 75 miles on it today with lots of 4-5k rpm driving and got oil and condensate in the catch can but it was the first drive that got the motor hot enough to open the thermostat and get oil flowing through the cooler. Getting the air out of that system might have caused a burping of the system because the thermostat opened on the freeway at 70mph.

Subsequent trips will tell. Oddly enough the oil level hardly budged.

At least the stuff in the can did not go into the Venturi.
