Regrettably had to sell the bikes to make room for the Morgan. Kept the riding gear though - just in case! I bought The black Lewis Leathers for racing in the early 70s. Can’t even get my legs into them now but they are part of the furniture. They come out of the in-garage wardrobe for a clean and an airing each Spring.

Managed to sort out a full scale first world problem of the first order today.

Yesterday, a gift arrived for me from my brother; a light aluminium, double walled insulated champagne flute;

A lovely thing and very nearly ideal for keeping my champagne cool in the oppressive heat of the Aberdeen springtime. However, the more alert of you will have noted that the flute is missing its stem, the manufacturer obviously having neglected to consider the climate in this part of the world and the need to keep warm hands off of the bowl of the flute itself so it was in to the shed to sort it out with an aluminium stem with a magnetic connection for the bowl;

Fitted together and ready for use;

After careful removal of its contents;

Bodged the weedkiller sprayer today. There was an air leak so losing pressure. It was the release valve. Neede a new sealing o-ring. Unscrewed it.....BUGGER! There was a bolt on the inside that dropped down retrieved it, put the o-ring on. Now....how to screw the bolt back on through the container top.... no way on earth to use a spanner or grips. Hozelock must have a special tool. Tried everything from wire, hook, tape. Nothing would work.
The bodge?
JB Weld.
Tomorrow the weeds die evil
