As the super detailing continues I got a bit enthusiastic with the Autosol removing some deep scratches on the centre console and have removed some of the turned finish doh!
Naively thinking I could order another I contacted Melvyn Rutter to check availability only to be told neither they nor Morgan Motors have any stock and as car is so old the part is unlikely to be made again plus - and here's the kicker - it would be 721.90 plus VAT!
My question therefore is does anyone know of anyone who could redo the turned finish on the console?

I would also ask Cain in the first instance.

Kevin, I made my own crossmember covers for the chassis last year ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/01/18/Crossmember-covers-2.jpg) But you will need a pillar drill type of set up as you need to keep everything accurate & well held down ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/01/18/Crossmember-covers-1.jpg)

Those pictures look very nice but my engineering skill level stops at detailing I'm afraid! Had considered trying it after watching some YouTube videos but would probably make a bigger mess than it's in now.

Hi Kevin, I was told last year by a Morgan Dealer that MMC are not supporting spares for the Aero 8 - I am not sure if thats all the models but certainly the S1. I know - a couple of years ago - we started a thread on here on where the parts came from - for instance the door handles were a Rover 800 if I recall correctly - so I went to the scrapyard and bought 4 of them for £10. But its worrying if its a major mechanical item thats especially manufactured for Morgan. Thus I have sold my S1 this year as the long waiting for parts were bad previously and now could be forever! Trouble is that its such a great car ! T

Hello Taffy. I agree on both your points. It is a great car but the parts situation is abysmal! Mine was in the garage for 4 months recently for major surgery on steering, suspension and various other items and the parts situation is comical at best. I am seriously considering ditching it this summer and buying from a marque who support their cars for many decades such as BMW or Mercedes.
Such a pity as I do love it when it goes well but that is very infrequently.

Centre consoles for idiots as well Simon - he says in vain hope? I believe you were involved with my cars saga as well Simon for the steering and rear wheel bearing issues a few months back.
