Took the car down to the stable yard today, only a couple of miles and mainly to see if I'd cured the knocking from under the N/S.
I hadn't.
I've posted a new thread on the matter.

A quick run out to the local fish market. Many cyclists on the roads (rather than on pavement cycle lanes), and with so few cars on the road they're definitely less aware. I engaged the safety system: manual gearshifts, timed for exhaust pop bang crackle noise, so that the cyclists hear me coming. All very friendly :-)

Quick run for me as well this morning. To the Morgan garage for the yearly service. This is what I love from Morgan. You are part of a family. Even if you bring the car in on Sundays, it's still good smile

We went out this morning for a semi-elicit run through the New Forest, ariving at Eyeworth Pond where we went out for a walk. Social distancing was easy, as we didn't see another human, at all!

Eyeworth pond was created in the mid 1800s by the Schultz Powder Works, it is in the middle of nowhere, ideal should something go wrong!

Driving through the forest it was clear that the animals have got used to the lack of traffic, we saw far more of the ponies, cows, piigs and sheep tha is normal. Also quite a number of 2 wheeled MAMILs...!!
Walking through the woods was a delight: normally at this time of year a Sunday morning would be very busy.
Sadly, of course, our favourite pub, the Royal Oak at Fritham was closed for the duration.

On the way back we called by at Les Mirabelles, our favourite restaurant. Claude, Chief - Patron was there and we chatted, he is expecting to re-open in August. Like us he and his team have found the break a welcome interlude in an otherwise hectic life.

It was good to get out and spend time burbelling through the Forest. It was also fun to come back up the A36, where we blew the cobwebs away!

A short blast up to Devil's Dyke on the South Downs, to act as water bearer for Emma, who *ran* there, and back
A 12 mile round trip for us both

A wonderful run on minor roads up towards Highclere Castle (AKA Downton Abbey) to meet a pal for a socially distanced walk in the country.

Parked in front of a glorious English Ash tree, next to a delightful cottage that was, I'm told a pre black death ale house and bakery.
It is now a rather nice rural retreat for some lucky person!
Not visible in the tree is a resident Peacock.. handsome but noisy.

As Tarka has a fair amount of Ash hidden under the skin I thought it was a rather appropriate photo!
