We may not have had the Red arrows or other fly pasts but at lunch we had this fantastic circular rainbow around the sun.

Interesting image John, caused me to wonder why you decided to photograph the sun...? Also wondered if the "rainbow" might be your lenses reaction to the bright light... Seems like you did indeed have a fly-by and captured in your image...Finally, seems like you have some sensor dust issues, but then who has not.. smile

Thanks for posting, I do enjoy looking at pics. thumbs

It was visible with the naked eye. I agree on the dust.
Sadly with the low volume of flights these days one was bang in the middle of the shot.

Well we continue to have record levels of sunshine here. I got the best ever daily generation from my PV array on Wed.

Graham, you caused me to remember the Trumpet joke, in that he wanted America to be the first to put a man on the sun, and when he was told it would be far too hot, he retorted then we will do it at night...From past performance it cold even be true...(-:

John kinda wishing I had some solar panels given much of my roof is south facing, but it seems too late in life to be feasible, unless electricity supplies begin to have issues, though being used to local line failures we have temporary measures in place, well at least until they outlaw the use of gas fires... Hats off to you for studying the sun too.
