Just done the glovebox modification and was wondering what catch others have used, I’ve used a knurled knob which looks ok but is not exactly quick access. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/05/09/5594067C-CB54-4CAD-97F5-13A4AD91E01F.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/05/09/8BB0D05C-8E0B-4057-BA54-4B0B66E214A4.jpg) Also modded the steering wheel (this lock down is dangerous due to too much fiddling time) could leave it unpainted, spray it black or polish it all bare aluminium, what do you think? ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/05/09/62F417C8-8572-41BE-A738-6BDDA79DE7D9.jpg)

Glove box looking good. I would go bare aluminium on the wheel.

Did you have to remove the dashboard for installing the glovebox, and how did you make it?

The glovebox looks good, and I would leace the wheel the way it is now, less to polish.

That’s what I was thinking, would be a job to polish it due to the brushed/milled finish on the surface.

Copied what others have done on here but can’t find the link. Remove the bulkhead from the back of the dash to gain access. Move the immobiliser, take a brave pill when cutting out the glovebox hole. Then just form the box, I used plywood fixing the bottom to the unused steering column mount and then sides and a back. You could use Plasitcard or Aluminium.

Hello Obie If I was you, to open/close the glove box I would use a snap clasp (is this how you call it in English? Sorry it's not my mothertongue so some technical words may not be a right Translation!) instead of your knurled knob. Just like this picture, but the part on the dahsboard shall not be fixed with it's counterpart but via a screw into the dashboard's female thread, which is easy and quite common. I mean you won't need the part shown at the bottom of the picture. You just have to find the proper screw with a flat enough head. Shouldn't be difficult. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/05/10/Corchete-presion.jpg) To make the opening easier, let me suggest you to insert a fabric or very thin leather loop while fixing the snap clasp of the glove box cover, so you can use to pull.

Great idea Javier! I had thought about using a press stud, as we call them, but not the loop which makes it workable for ease of opening.

All done Javier and works a treat, Was hoping to use leather but combined with the already thick leather of the dashboard it was too much for the cap to reach. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/05/13/1D80C649-2694-4A35-B485-BE5647DF4B84.jpg)
