Thanks, Bunny!
Chris from G56 is sending me some so I am OK for now. But good to know they can be sourced from eBay if/when needed.

Most but not all, M3W's have a plate on the inner skin, where the exhaust brackets bolt through. If there is no load spreading aluminium plate on the inside of the car it's a good idea to fit one as the G56 system is heavier than the standard system. Check the rivets along the lower edge of the skin occasionally as the heads are prone to shearing off. This can happen with any exhaust system fitted but is maybe slightly more of a problem with the G56 fitted. The rivets can be easily replaced.

My earlier car with heat shields fixed to silencer original MMC bobbins did not last long, replaced with Caterham parts which have been good for over 5 years

I have put larger but more flexible rubber bobbins on the mounts of my G56 pipes plus a load spreading plate on the front mounting on the inside of the body. That reduced the clattering considerably. The other thing I did was to lubricate the clamps and their locking screws from the down pipes to the silencer systems with Permatex ultra high temperature anti-seize, got them really hot and tightened them hot (my burns should heal soon). https://www.amazon.co.uk/Permatex-81343-Anti-Seize-Lubricant-Tube/dp/B0002UEOLO Again that reduced the clattering.

Thanks for sharing the information, Wilson.
Which "larger but more flexible rubber bobbins" did you end up using?

My M3W had the load spreading plates on the inside panel. In fact stock exhaust bracket was using 4 bolts i.e. 4 attachment points for each bracket, I thought there would be only 3. So now I have holes exposed on the side, one per bracket area. But I think I can attach another small L bracket there and secure the exhaust at 2 additional points on each side because I am not sure how secure the exhaust is just sitting on top of 2 bobbins.

I don't think it needs another securing point, it is fine with just the two bobbins. I have had mine a few years now and no problems. Check there is clearance between the exhaust case and the upper part of the forward mount, that is the part that can touch and vibrate in use. Just put a blanking screw and washer in the unused hole. Enjoy the G56 kit, it makes a big difference.

Stephen, I just went for a 50-mile drive and my wife took readings using the "Decibel X" app. Depending on location (narrow canyon, a bit wider canyon, other traffic around and little traffic around), at 3K rpm under NO load cruising, the readings were as low as 86dB and as high as 90dB. She was holding the phone and keeping it centered in the car at a chest level.

Obviously different devices and apps would yield different results, but considering this is a $15.99 app and claims to be calibrated blah blah blah ... I think its probably reasonable i.e. not total junk.

So - somewhere between 86dB and 90dB is what I found smile
