Suppose this is mainly directed towards all ex 3 wheeler owners. As the title says, if you could have another new Morgan 3W, would you get another one?

Not in replace of what you already have but as an additional vehicle with funds, space etc. and being allowed wink No I haven't been drinking or taking substances.

I've got an itch....

With a 4 Post lift, an overhead trolley lift, an extensive compliment of hand tools and air tools, all of Morgan’s Motor Manuals with their updates, a tilting flatbed car hauler and a garage for it as well. Have I forgotten something?

Then yes.

I have several cars in the garage, including an E-type, a Lotus Elan, and a Porsche Cayman, besides the M3W. Car to guess which one I gravitate towards on a dry sunny day?

A Morgan 3W makes absolutely no sense at all, and for that the world is a better place.

I dont know how you guys get on with M3Ws.

Id love to own one, love the styling etc. However, having sat in one recently there is just no way I could drive it. My knees were forcibly pressed up against the steering wheel ( because there is no room to spread your legs as they are in a 'tunnel' ) my feet bent back on the pedals and my back was too upright.

Im only 6 ft so not a ginormous beast by any stretch. Are they all like that ? Added to that they seem to be perpetually breaking down ! These factors maybe explain why there are so many low millage ones on the market ? After the magic wears off.

But, If I had the cash id probably get one and have it modified or my legs shortened by 12 inches.

I am happy I had one and I am happy it is now with someone else.
A great experience but with limitations in comfort and technology

I love the concept of them but I don’t fit in them.
I would have an Atom instead, cheaper (secondhand), more leg room, better handling, better performance, just as mad!

Money and storage space no object, I would have both! laugh2

That's how I feel - I'd never buy another. However I would consider hiring one for a day or so to cure the itch - they are so flawed but also so wonderful.

For Bonesie, at 1.95m (6' 5" in old money) I am comfortable in our M3W mainly because we have a 50mm spacer behind the wheel...and we have met other tall people who seem successful by this means. This successful group does not include our 2.1m son who has no chance! …. in contemplating his eventual inheritance, he has thoughts on re-engineering the steering column location.....). Do recognise though that the floor mounted pedals do create some extra awkwardness and the driving position is certainly narrow.

Although not in Peter's target response group - we have had ours since early 2012 and having nursed it and ourselves through all the various trials and tribulations (n.b. we have always got home) we have no intention of parting company … however, not sure if I would buy new today - the EU4-led changes are not attractive and regulations to come may make matters worse - if you want one, I'd suggest you buy a well-sorted, well cared one from 2014-2016.

Some people have come to these from bikes and thus are used to the limitations in comfort and weather exposure in exchange for the raw motoring experience - we liken it to a rearranged bike and sidecar. We were not bikers but saw ours as a fun replacement for cat sailing which became too risky for worn knees.

I've not owned one, I've driven a couple and been driven in one.
If I had a big lottery win I'd buy one.
Not because it makes any sense whatsoever, but because they make me smile.
A bit like many motorcycles......
