I consider myself to be of no real political persuasion, but since retirement I have watched hundreds of hours if not more of political infighting over all sorts of issues and to some degree world wide, well at least as far as it is reported on TV and YouTube.
I am disappointed but not surprised at the far right and nationalist leaning tendencies taking hold in many places, thus the disruptors seem to be taking over. Personality politics has gone too far when the Ukrainians vote into power some actor who played their PM on a TV prog, we end up with Trumpet TV in the White House and BoJo, a newspaper columnist at best, as UK PM... with Cummings seemingly working him from behind the curtain.
I do wonder if Cummings does resign if the usual Boris bluster and stumbling will get even worse, when faced with the well practised cross examination skills of Starmer. I suspect no matter the outcome BoJo will have Cummings on speed dial to relay the necessary punch lines, like Get Brexit Done etc. etc. etc. ... For in reality it seems no matter the activity of the so called great and good, there those who will excuse it completely or at best slap them on the wrist and later they are allowed back "in" once the fuss dies down.
Seems politics can be about as corrupt as banking seems to have become, as the result of poor political planning of both sides of the isle, both here and in the US..
Have we really degenerated as a society to a situation where open and dishonest behaviour is now entirely acceptable...?
I had foolishly thought that after a situation where every one of us were informed of Clintons few moments of light relief many years ago, that people in positions of power would realise that their actions could so easily be open to scrutiny like never ever before... DUH..!
Past being shocked, but not quite yet past caring... Best give up before the stents do....sigh!

No change of subject Tim, its about Covid and the dangerous behaviour of individuals- whoever they are. There is no doubt that some people are currently acting contrary to the spirit or the letter of the law, be it either the The Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020/350 or the Coronavirus Act 2020. I don't disagree that some of the journalists reporting on the Cummings story appear from the footage to have been in contravention of the health protection regs (which cover the social distancing). Cummings appears to have contravened the Coronavirus Act (which provides the powers covering the 'potentially infectious' people). One could argue that these are two separate (though undeniably related) pieces of legislation, but this would still not avoid the problem of falling into a form of tu quoque fallacy "A cannot accuse B of doing wrong because A also does wrong". But more significantly I believe the issue here is of false equivalence: journalists simply do not have the same power and influence as Cummings and do not have the same expectations of leadership from the general public.

Well having just watched the interview and attempting to be as open minded as possible I think he fell short of standards.
The standards I am referring to are those set by Prince Andrew in his recent faux-pas. I think he just put an Exocet in both him and Doris. Not certain what will come of this.
I just put a bet on K.S. for the next P.M. not as a political gesture but just as a reaction to the way this seems to be heading.

I just put a bet on K.S. for the next P.M. not as a political gesture but just as a reaction to the way this seems to be heading. You are making the mistake of assuming that Parliament is anything to to with Government. It is entertainment for the masses. KS is logical, very bright and totally boring. So he has no chance. Doris and Dominic are entertainment, rather like Morecambe and Wise.

BJ is going to have to make a big announcement on releasing the lockdown soon to try and deflect some of the media attention. It had better be good and not riddled full of back tracking in the days to follow and without any loopholes that the entitled can exploit
