Heinz I take you mean that the fault codes should be cancelled each time?

Stuart, I would cancel them. They come automatically if you run the test cycle without the MAF sensor attached. But I'm not sure if it makes a difference if the ECU has filed the error but on the other hand "sees" the MAF sensor again when it is reconnected. But deleting the errors is maybe safer.
Are you far away from your Morgan Garage where you perhaps could borrow another MAF sensor before spending the money for an by now uncertain possibility?

Heinz, I think there is more chance of Stuart borrowing your MAF sensor than him borrowing Craigs. If it wasn't for this lockdown I'm sure Stuart would like to visit Koln

Ha-ha, Rob! In the meantime I had some PM with Stuart, and he found a source for an original MAF sensor at a very attractive price, which he will test without much risk (I'll knock on wood). Craig always gives the impression that he is very carefree and unconcerned with his Morgan. So I thought it would be no problem for him to lend MAF sensor, accelerator, wiring harness, ECU and throttle to SFG

I wouldn’t risk swapping it for Craig’s, he’d know at once. His is too finely polished, you can see it in the photographs

Not really part of this but maybe a parallel point. My 4/4 sigma has had a re-map. The engine has a small tendency to pink around 2500 rpm. Note: applying more throttle stops the pink. That is odd. But the tendency slowly gets worse over 3000 miles or so. Cleaning the MAF virtually stops the tendency to pink. Oh if someone sources a Formoco MAF sensor for the sigma at a reasonable price please let me know. Cheapest so far £270 which is bit steep for a minor experiment.
