Am thinking of a foot locker, but in two minds so would welcome any views?

I bought the Librands foot locker. No regrets.
- It gives Mrs F a foot rest
- I use it to store essential tools and papers when touring
- I have Velcro pads on the top surface and the hood cover sits on top of the foot locker - one less thing to find space for behind the seats

Make sure you get the correct width version for your car.

I don’t find it terribly useful for every day lockable storage as it’s difficult to access (I have to kneel on the floor and lean in) but SWMBO loves it because she can rest her feet on it and it stops her sliding forward when I brake (she’s 5’2”).
Quite expensive for a foot rest but “happy wife, happy life” so worth every penny!

Same here, I have one on my Plus 4, the wife loves it as she is a bit on the short side and it gives her somewhere to rest her feet. I do keep documents in it, but mainly those I don't normally need such as a copy of the MOT, insurance, V5, circuit diagram, and anything else needed when out of the UK. Even has enough space for an electric tyre pump. Tools and spares are in another lockable box under the bonnet.

Just wondering....how do you secure it to the floor? Are we talking drilling holes?

I made a wooden one covered in carpet which fits snugly so dosn't move at all and is tailor made to fit my wife's height.

When we bought our car we had one fitted. Never used it to store anything as (others have also said) its too much faff and not very secure imo. However, for Treacle its the perfect distance for her feet to sit.

Fitted one to my M3W after it was given as a present. After modifying it with pop rivets to re-secure the door which fell off as it was badly "glued" on, I found I used it very little. Main reason was the difficult access although it made a great footrest for passenger

We use a boot bag - that is a bag for storing walking boots. Its the perfect triangular-ish shape, can be removed if I have a taller passenger, yet still acts as a footrest for Mrs N+4. It is used for the car cover and some emergency spares. And of course it as very cheap.

I use it for tools, spares etc that I don't access often. likes it as a footrest.
It is bolted on through the floorboards.
