The little cover and underlying washer which protect the speedo gear came off; luckily I found them on the passenger footwell...amazing they didn't get lost on the road. How can I secure the dished washer and cover back onto the speedo housing? I was able to reattach the speedo gear and tighten the set screw.

Perry it would really help if you could specify the model and year of your car, so we have a better chance of offering sound advice.
