A long time Morgan owner has been helping a person whom has purchased recently a 1996 Morgan +4 2 seater in New Zealand. The car has no sidescreens. Question is could the car have left the factory sans sidescreens or have they been lost somewhere. He is wanting to replace the sidescreens and wants to know where he could obtain replacements in UK? Even if just the 2 frames were able to be purchased and the mounting brackets made up here in NZ to fit the car. What thoughts do you folks have. Appreciate your suggestions and comments please. Unfortunately sidescreens don't seem to be one of the Morgan bits that gets replaced/updated (other than pretty trim options) so there aren't a load of second hand removed ones about that I've seen ..... I presume the Morgans in the salvage yard are to be sold as 'projects' rather than sold for spares??

On here are a few threads of making sidescreens such as this. I know Tassy gets some English weather so you will need side screens but in NZ maybe this is enough depending upon where he is based. Clear sidescreens

For your 1996 car, you’re going to need ‘short door’ side screens- surely there must be a pair lying around in a Dealership somewhere 🤷🏼♂️🤔!

I like the idea that John V6 posted. Since my car didn't come with the side screens or a top, I assume the top needs to be made 1st and then figure out the side screens. I also have a contact that has a year newer model of my car and may see if I can use his for a pattern. The clear screens is an interesting alternative.
The dealerships may have screens for the newer cars, but those from the 50's, probably not.

In my experience I would be surprised if it left the factory without them and your suggestion about them being mislaid I would think to be right. I don't know of anywhere in the UK but my link below may help Tcherek is an absolute enthusiast and will help out if she can. Maybe worth checking with Tcherek she is in the process of sorting out some older valuable spares on Bill's harbourside property and I seem to recall her putting some up for sale on the Morgan Spares site she runs on Facebook (excellent site too) a while back. Contact for Tcherek at Morgan Cars USA SF.

I doubt there's much, if any, difference difference between sidescreens for a '50s car up to the early '90s.

![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/fsMNPhC.jpg) I couldn't remember if Id chucked them out or not but I have an old pair in the loft. God knows what it would cost to ship them to New Zealand though.
