My question is "Is Ebay getting worse" I ask this because on the 3rd of June I ordered some fuses for the car, this was early on a Wednesday and I paid with Paypal so payment was immediate.

The estimated delivery dates were between the 8th to the 10th of June, so far so good, I didn't get confirmation of dispatch till the 8th (5 days later) which was the first possible delivery date.

Needless to say the later delivery date was not met either, it is now the 11th the post has been and no fuses delivered.

I understand the effects of Covid 19 but 5 days between ordering and dispatch, really?

I wonder if organisations such as Paypal etc were to withhold payment till dispatch was confirmed, this might give sellers an incentive to get their finger out?

I don't think you can blame eBay as such. There's lots of delays in the process at the moment. I order a fair bit of car and bike parts.

In the last few weeks I've had stuff arrive in 24hrs, and some stuff take two weeks regardless of method. I ordered something two weeks ago - it was sent by Hermes, and seemed to have got stuck in the system (didn't move from the depot for 7 days). Customer resent by Royal Mail, parcel arrived this morning, and an hour later the original arrived via Hermes.

In the same Royal Mail delivery, I also got an empty padded envelope in a plastic bag with 'Sorry' on it!

I imagine normal service will resume once all the Covid stuff has died down, and everyone is back at work properly. Just need a bit of patience and lower our delviery expectations.

Generally for me things are on time or early.

Probably only buy from advertisers using (opposed to auctions) ebay around once a month and find they deliver well within the span they quote.

Paypal has a 'pay after delivery' option , where Paypal pays the seller immediately , then you pay Payal a couple of weeks later.
I find it gives you chance to put in a non delivery claim , if this happens without you paying a penny.

What's the vendor's feedback score like for dispatch times? You can always mark them down for it when you get the goods.

It's all down to the individual traders rather than ebay - they must be under intense competition though from the Amazon - order 'Saturday night and have it delivered Sunday afternoon' new normal.(must get out more after Covid)

I did order a new battery for this very laptop from ebay for £15 a couple of weeks ago and could not get it to work despite pratting about with seller guidance. Ordered a £23 replacement from Amazon and it worked straight away.

Ebay seller accepted this, refunded and told me not to bother returning it.

Both batteries were from China and looked very similar similar, so think the ebay item was just unlucky.

At the start of the Covid outbreak I couldn't obtain 3m dust masks from any of my usual suppliers so bought a £225 airflow mask from eBay. I got the last one they had in stock, other retailers were selling the same item for anything up to £500. Item was marked as dispatched, Guess what, it never arrived, sold to someone who was prepared to pay a higher price I suspect.

After numerous messages to the seller with no response I contacted eBay and was refunded immediately.

It's the first time I've had any issues with eBay and have always found delivery on or before the dates stated, even during this pandemic.

If I do start to experience problems I'll remember that one thanks for the tip.
