Had a river cruise down the Rhine and Rhone couple of years ago - loved those historic German towns and villages with vines everywhere - must revisit wine

We had a similar long road trip exploring the Rhine when we drove down from Zeven where I was working at the time in 1977 - the scenery was stunning as were the vineyards and we were lucky enough to catch the Heidelberg fair weekend.

Lots of happy memories and maybe time for a revisit when things are a little more relaxed.

We have friends in Bavaria at Rosenheim who are long overdue a visit too. Strangely enough we met them on a Lufthansa package holiday to Zarzis in Tunisia in 1976 and have corresponded ever since.

That is good service in the current climate.

Didn't Thunderbirds save something similar from crashing? I seem to remember a landing gear failure... grin2

Paul, very good service, they tried hard to get us to rebook for next years cruise

We spoke to a number of insurance companies and none of them are covering for Covid-19 .

We then pushed and got the refund very quickly in the current climate.

Hurtigruten are basing a ship in Dover next year but round Britain not of interest, one of the ports is Dartmouth....if i want to go to Dartmouth i will drive either my car or boat there. The only dover based trip could be the northern lights expedition.

Hopefully a vaccine in next 12 months and we can do the north west passage.

Partners youngest flies back from Perth on 21st, they will have to wear masks and gloves for the whole trip, it will be hard on the children

Hope your trip goes ahead but suspect it may get cancelled

Pete

BF constantly tell you that you will get a refund credit note but when they cancel they send you a link to the contact page. If look at the drop down box you can select "May sailing is cancelled I would like an alternative to the Refund credit note".
You then have a text field to tell them what you want. Here you need to write I want a full refund.

So whilst they offer refunds they have a corporate strategy of delaying access to get a refund. They only communicate by email and then send waffle till they have to cancel..
You then need to be in the know when the cancellation e mail comes as to how to get a refund.
