Hi Steve That new tunnel cover looks very good. Did you do it yourself? Could be a winter project?

Nigel Nigel, Yes, fabbed the cover from fiberglass. Carved/sanded the form out of styrofoam, covered that with 'glass and epoxy resin (doesn't dissolve the styrofoam) and sanded to shape to make a male buck, then waxed it well and laid polyester resin and 'glass over that to make the part. I was trying to be lazy and not bother with a female mold, but as it turned out the amount of finish work doing it the way I did was vastly greater than if I had gone ahead with the mold. Here's a photo of the buck, after the part was pulled off of it. The pink is filler, used to help finalize the shape. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/06/13/IMG_0200.jpg)

Thanks for the detailed reply. That’s quite some effort and skills on show.
I think that is a bit more difficult for a complete novice than I would wish to have a go at.
Thanks again

Steve, Beautiful job. My car already had a narrow console when I bought it, but I have to say that your custom job has a great appearance. The minimalist look including the shifter and boot look consistent with the era that inspired the vehicle. Bravo.
