The BLM did the sensible thing and called off their protest. Did this avoid violence? Apparently not, the Far Right simply went for the Police instead.

So much for protecting the statues, this thug was pissing on a memorial to a Policeman killed by terrorists.

There will always be bullies and bigots. I think it’s part of the human psyche. Used to think as a nation we were improving in our acceptance of diversity. Since the Brexit debate kicked off I hear a less tolerant overtone far more often.

I would just like to make the point that a great many of my Veteran colleagues have been standing guard at various Cenotaphs around the UK and they are far from being Right Wing Thugs which they are being labelled as by the media. They are genuinely concerned veterans who find it utterly disgraceful the desecration and vandalism that is taking place and are prepared to do something about it. As with all protests and as I have pointed out in a previous post subversive factions will try to subvert the genuine cause and cause division and of course the media love to make a news story happen too.

Yes Bruce there was a lot of guys in berets in evidence still defending the capitol and exchanging greetings with the police, their presence was noted.

This is where our media is now... Journalism now seems to have attracted a load of unimaginative self seekers that appear to have forgotten the main brief of actually reporting the facts to the customers.

Do you get this kind of rubbish journalism over there too I wonder.

Your previous image of the guy relieving himself is the Grudian stirring as he is not weeing on the memorial but adjacent to it and has probably been caught short as the public loos are closed.. Yet more media games, he probably stood near the pillar to afford himself some cover...

The Guardian correctly reported that him was urinating adjacent to the memorial. It was the Telegraph who reported otherwise.

That's a relief for all then as I felt sure he would have had a better aim had it been his intention to disrespect the memorial.
It suits the Right leanings of the Torygraph for sure perhaps they paid him...[i][/i]

Not all "Right Wing Thugs" - were inciting trouble......many of old vets and "normal" people defending memorials....peacefully
