I've rebuilt much worse!
Well worth rebuilding especially at the prices that Moss Box cars are fetching....and to think there was a time when folk used to discard the Moss box in favour of a Rover 4 or 5 speed unit!
Andy G/MOG615 is quite correct when he says that the late Plus 4's have the HR prefix Moss gearboxes. My 1968 Plus 4 has a HR prefix

I agree Terry is a good man to start with, helpful and really knows older Morgan's, he does a lot of parts for the Moss box talk tubes.
.+8 Now gone for a 1800 4/4. Duratec in bright yellow.

Incidentally, I ordered a new chassis for the Plus 4 from Terry and he remembered working on the car in the early 1980's for the previous owner.

Just got confirmation from Bob that the car was first registered on 13/01/1969 so a very early one and in orange with the standard (at the time) black vinyl trim.
Bob has the original paint code from the factory so I have suggested he contact our own TM paint expert.

We communicate on Whatsapp and one question he has is what is the gauge of the metal on the car ? obviously this vintage on an untampered with car such as this it's all steel. I'd be interested to know the panel gauge too - I think I have a couple of small repairs to do at the rear.
