Hello all,

I'm sure this is a well trodden path, but I haven't been able to turn up anything concrete. Before I commit to buying a car I would be keen to know what engines can and cannot use unleaded fuel. I have been looking at new (and newish) 4/4s, so no problem there, and I guess anything with a Zetec uses unleaded, but there are a couple of early 1990s Plus 4s that have caught my eye, with both the M and T series Rover engines. Can these use unleaded? And what about the earlier CVH?

thanks in advance

Mark

Good Morning Mark. My 4/4 CVH is 1989 vintage and runs on unleaded as standard, I understand the turning point with the CVH was about 1986.

For the +4 engine series M & T I ca not say, sorry.

I have always run my 89 plus four on unleaded - in fact this engine was designed to use both I think. Meabh.

Thanks all for your quick responses. My current 3 all use unleaded, and I don't want to go back to the days of carrying little additive bottles around!
