I hope I am wrong but I vaguely remember hearing that there is a potential fault with hazard lights that can cause one of the control modules to fail. I do hope this is duff information as these are expensive and hard to get.

I recall reading that someone had a short on an indicator light fitting which took the dash control panel out, not wanting to concern you just to make you aware.

Spent the last two or three hours loosening the steering column and removing the dash from its fixings. I cannot find anything wrong, nor can I find any relays for the hazard lights. There is a large box marked Morgan Dashboard Control and a smaller black box with no markings. I cannot find either on the schematic indeed there are many differences from the wiring diagrams. I will look at some more from the GoMoG site although the one I have should cover my vehicle. Mine's 2001 and the schematic was for 1998-2004.
Anyone got any more ideas?
Perhaps I ought to find an auto electrician or should I go to a Ford dealer? I'm not sure it is all Ford wiring apart from the engine stuff. The dashboard wiring is the same as for a +8 of similar age. Don't be shy about employing an auto electrician, he'll crack it in minutes if he's good. I get king pins changed by an expert as although I do servicing and brake rebuilds I'm not equipped to do them so leave it to the experts. There was a French owner that followed the instructions religiously provided on here for king pin replacement and ended up being hospitalised with a broken jaw and losing some teeth, so the message is recognise your own limitations. Still I have other things I can get on with gardening, sailing, restoring an old dinghy, tidying the garage (a career job) and many other things. I won't be idle. I fitted LED indicator and brake lights from BCL. Went round in circles trying to get them to work. One circuit would work and not the other. Eventually gave up and arranged for them to be fitted by an auto electrician via RTCC. He like me had problems, spoke directly to BCL and fitted different resistors which sorted out the indicators. However was unable to get the brake lights to work if the indicators were on. He eventually gave up. The cost for his time in not getting them to work, cost me a small fortune.

Have no idea if this might help... a pic of the relays behind the dash on my 1986 +8 Ignore the blue relay which controls auto choke operation, the other two are flasher related and you can perhaps gain understanding by checking the colours of the wires and identifying them from the colour code list in the link below... After supper I will look at exposed wires as they enter the light fittings etc in case there is a short. The dash control panel sounds like an expensive bit of kit and that's before trying to fit it. This gets scarier by the minute.

At least they would tell me where I could get one, if necessary.

and what looks like a couple of external diodes? Hi, Deejay. I'm no electrician. The diodes, if that's what they are, are soldered across two pins in the hazard switch. Perhaps later I will take it apart and post a photo but we're going sailing shortly so I will be away for a few hours. The diodes are there to isolate paths to both left and right indicators when hazard function is selected and they work together. Obviously they need to be separate for indicator function. FWIW I believe the second hazard relay on the GoMog dash diagram is to isolate indicator selection when hazards functioning.
