Quick note to all who posted, helped, sent DM's and the rest...I got it. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1998-morgan-plus-8-4/As I type this arrangements are in the works for transport to Oklahoma and I'll trailer it along with the origional tires/wheels/tops to Cordova, TN as soon as humanly possible. Thank you for all of the advice, ideas, thoughts and well wishes. I've got no idea of how dad will react but that day can't come soon enough for me! Thanks again, your help means the world to me. Very well done Kevin, that car looks perfect for your father. Let him know about this forum, I'm sure he will enjoy it too.

Maybe this is the wrong place and I’ll certainly move if needed but because I’m new to Morgans, heck I’m new to cars in general as I simply buy a truck, drive it, have it serviced and eventually trade- I’ve got a couple of questions about this +8.
First- I’ve driven the car three or four times and have experienced three things that bug me.
First and maybe most concerning, after having it detailed yesterday, I drove it home to load in the trailer for the 600 mile journey to Memphis. Took my son for a quick ride and showed him what it can do- ran it quickly to 60mph and when I got on the throttle heavily I heard what sounded like something rubbing underneath, centerline and slightly behind the seats. It sounded like a tire rubbing against a wheel well but it wasn’t that. Maybe the drive shaft? It seemed to be caused by the car leaning back during heavy acceleration. Is this normal, expected or something that needs attention?
Second, I noticed a bit of steam emanating from under the hood. When we got it into the trailer there was coolant overflow coming from a clear tube under the engine. Why would this happen and what should I do?
Third, the drove well the first two days but yesterday it didn’t idle well until it got warmed up. It stalled maybe 5-6 times. I’ll watch it but is there something in particular I should have checked or adjust?
Fourth, the car squeaks a lot. I don’t think it’s a big deal but when driving through a neighborhood or something where sound is amplified by houses on both sides or whatever it’s kind of...well, I just would rather that it didn’t. I assume that this is normal for a 20yr is vehicle with 70k miles but is this something that grease or something can remedy or is this just part of the deal, maybe even the charm?
We have a reservation tonight at Capital Grille in Memphis, they’ve got valet parking. He doesn’t know we are coming so just seeing us will be a suprise. Imagine when the valet pulls his car around after dinner!

Rough idling and over heating may indicate a head gasket problem?
Squeaks are fairly common place but can be removed once you've indentified the location. Spent a few months with a bit of oil in places, tightening a few screws/bolts and the odd bit of neoprene padding!
Not too sure about the rubbing noise - first things I'd check are gearbox and diff oil levels, plus getting some grease into all the prop/axle grease points.

You will ever find help here, though gomog.com is THE place to find almost instant answers to just about everything.
Boy is that valet likely to feel challenged...!!!

The rubbing noise could be the prop shaft hitting the tunnel. Check the shocks are OK & also the suspension hangers on the rear wheels, Morgan made a major upgrade which I found out after mine kept failing, That's allows the prop shaft to move too far. Hi Kevin, Somewhat late in my congratulations on your purchase.....Sorry to have missed the BAT auction Hope the car's recent issues have been or will soon be identified and resolved. Would love to have been a witness to your Dad's reactions during the presentation. Please share them with us if you feel inclined to. A photo or two would be delightful...... All father's should be as blessed as yours is for having a son like you! All the best in future, Looks like an excellent choice Kevin....

I have NO idea how to share the video, I’ll try to upload it to YouTube or something and share a link. Thanks for your replies, he’s excited to join the local club and I suspect find all of the answers, a mechanic etc...he was up past midnight last night, kept saying he cannot believe that his dream came true.
When we left he was in the garage just looking at it.
What a Father’s Day!

Figured it out, here are the links: https://youtu.be/6xjmoO_dVPYhttps://youtu.be/AbKSCRU3j40As to the mechanical stuff, thank you for your responses. I think that once he joins the Memphis British Car Club he will have lots of help and someone will point him in the direction of a good mechanic who can work on it and that he can trust to do a good job for him. It’s a beautiful car and everywhere I stopped- whether it was a stoplight or the gas station or the ball field I got questions, people wanted to look at it and most had a story to tell. I now think I understand part of you guys passion, they are incredible works of art, this particular one looks like it’s an antique car but it’s pretty dang fast and it’s just a blast to drive. I’m afraid that this process has just converted me. I’m now eyeballing the new +6...what a car! I’ll restrain myself for at least a few years though.

Thank you for sharing all of this Kevin. What a fantastic story to unfold and to be able to follow vicariously through your posts on TM and BaT. I’m sure it was an incredible night for your entire family, especially for your father. Congratulations on a job very well done Kevin.
