Troubled to hear something didn't work in the sale/production planning of the "Aero SS" model. Aware that the economical and financial problems caused by "80 circa BMW V8 engines"(as someone said), not usable at the moment, are not a joke!
Very interesting to read all your different thoughts for solving the issue, but a lot of them require other economical and financial engagements and a long time to produce/sale a new car with unsure effects.
My thought is firstly MMC must believe in the Aero SS (a very interesting car) then understand the reasons why Aero SS sales are so poor and mainly do convince (more earnings?) dealers to push that MMC model.

Cheers
Claudio

An S5 Aero (full convertible) would make more sense to me than a trad shape with the same engine and underpinnings.

But then what do I know...... innocent

Yes, a Roadster with nearly 235 HP is enough for a Trad body and I'm not sure a BWM V8 with 360 HP or more is a good thing, MMC will have to modify so many things !!!

An Aero S5 is really a nice idea and will certainly sell more than the ASS love

if you have a better differential and put Aero-racing-brake-pads in the front brakes, and all chassis-enhancements,
then a Trad can easily handle 280bhp

Surely, if produced, the BMW/ Trad will have the Aero chassis?
(and I suspect an 80-100k price tag)

This is a link to RTCC at Reading who has the prototype Aero chassis and BMV8 with Traditional coverings @ 60K.

A bit like a +8 on steroids - kind of hunky.
