@ Tim, I've not considered anything yet. I don't plan on going far with this and mostly for quick blasts on the back lanes in my area so the can't see much use of a taller screen. However, that said, I have been eyeing up the Brooklands screens I've asked that the Brooklands steering wheel be added to mine along with a spacer and feel those screens would work well with the over all spec.

But I'll need to learn first what all this is about, read about sealing the cabin and fingers crossed I won't get tired of polishing the exhaust lol. As mentioned, I want to remove the wrap asap and really hope I can polish out any residue.

Should know today if it's arriving tomorrow or Thursday. Getting excited but also preparing to say good bye to Oliver. A bit bitter sweet...

Perry if you need the steering spacer make sure they have put the pedals as far forward as possible

Under the exhaust wrapping I got some very nice black corrosion on my M3W.
Like matt paintig.
I did prefer that to the original shiny exhausts. I think wrapped exhausts look good too.

While that exhaust does look good, I truly hope I can get it shinny again. The car has only been driven by me on a test drive so fingers crossed it's reversible. Are the pipes not the same regardless if you have wrap or not? I've ready a few on here state the wrapping comes off quite quickly and from a personal perspective, I do enjoy shinny bits.:)

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

The chrome on the pipes really don't last that long, particularly bad if you don't go to Stage-1 and relieve the engine of the exhaust restrictors that make the headers glow red-hot after only a few minutes of running. I suspect with a LOT of elbow grease you might be able to keep them at least gold/chrome with hints of blue, but it is an effort I'm afraid. I also wrapped my pipes and achieved the self same results as above, unintentionally. Wrap doesn't last long if you use the car a lot in all weathers - it gets wet, gets blown about in hurricane force winds and beaten up all the time. It overheats and falls off in my experience, but in my case the antique effect surfacing suits my car well :-)

Thanks for the tip R1NGA. I'll get them off the second I get the car home and see what's under there. As for upgrades, I'll give it this season as it is and go from there. Likely route is a stage 1 as it all makes sense - I've ready most posts from this forum over the last few days

Some have used Autosol Blueing Remover to maintain the shine. After hearing about wrap disintegrating (and experiencing it with some cheap stuff I found on ebay), I looked around for recommendations and went for DEI Titanium, which after 2000-odd miles is as good as new. Important to wrap towards the engine to inhibit water getting through the overlaps.

The exhausts are stainless rather than chrome and will discolour with the heat even with non standard silencers. There are some chemical treatments that will take a lot of the hard work of getting them polished back to clean from the blued heat affected look. The surface left by the wrap might take a bit more effort. You might need several cases of beer if the plan is to sit down with a rag and a tub of Autosol!

it all has to do with the metals that are used in either chrome or stainless and how they change under intense heat. Really the only way to prevent it is to something like Honda did in its early Gold Wings (and probably later as well) which is to have a two pipe system.
