While changing engine oil for the first time, I managed to break a wire connector adjacent to the oil filter. The filter was too tight and when I applied too much force with the filter wrench, I think I somehow broke this piece off. 3 Wheeler is still running fine and no check engine light or anything like that. Questions: 1. Any ideas on what the purpose of this wire/connector is? 2. How/where might I find a replacement part? ![[Linked Image]](https://jawad.zenfolio.com/img/s/v-10/p3916449295-5.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://jawad.zenfolio.com/img/s/v-10/p3916449244-5.jpg) While I was at it, I also installed the Engine Oil Drain from morgancustom.net for future ease of oil drainage. ![[Linked Image]](https://jawad.zenfolio.com/img/s/v-10/p3916449330-5.jpg)

Looks to be the oil pressure switch,S&S part number 106-0744 though it's a fair chance that it's a standard part that's widely available from motor factors and not just from S&S dealers. Bit surprised that there's no warning light with it disconnected.

Bit surprised that there's no warning light with it disconnected. With it disconnected you will get an open circuit which would be equivalent to registering oil pressure i.e. situation normal. Bet the OP doesn't get warning light before start though which might throw up a MIL on some cars.

If you are wanting to install a drain in one/both of the oil lines, you might want to check this out: https://tinyurl.com/Drain-PortWhen I bought one a couple of years ago, I found a stainless one. Drilled a solid brass NPT plug for safety wire. A little more compact and IMHO elegant than the blocky one offered. I would also add that any of these should be inspected for burrs at the end of the tapped thread so none come loosed and cause issues. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/01/29/IMG_1455.jpg)

I have snapped mine off in the past changing the oil filter.
It is a standard HD part.

Thanks guys. Much appreciated. I ordered the part yesterday. A couple of other questions: ![[Linked Image]](https://jawad.zenfolio.com/img/s/v-10/p3917899668.jpg) I just changed the oil so, just making sure removing the oil pressure switch will not drain the oil. Will it? Also, would I need to apply blue/red/any locktite to the threads when I put the new part on?
