Just fitted mine today, thanks to all the previous contributors/threads for the very useful tips and pictures. 👍 Also swapped out the OE airfilter and snorkel, with a view to doing something different. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/06/28/20200624_212802.th.jpg)

Good work! Have you noticed a difference after fitting the brake reaction bars?

Permit me to toss in my impressions after fitting BRS. I did not expect much change, if any at all. I am a "cruiser", so not much hard braking. Fitting BRS was an experiment, so cheap that it would not be much of a loss if they did not have any effect - I'd had some fun fitting them anyway. However, I did notice a difference. I cannot say regarding the hard braking - as I do not brake hard that much. But the whole front of the car calmed down, in a way difficult to describe. It felt more stable, not moving around that much both horizontally and vertically (which I can't explain, but anyway - less "nodding dog"). It felt slightly closer to driving an ordinary car - in a good way. I admit that there might be a bit of placebo in this, and the changes were quite subtle. The only way I can explain this is that the BRS stiffens the whole front of the car, reducing the inherent flexing. And not only during braking, but most of the time, as I suspect there are constant micro-movements. Something that is needed? No, the earth did not move beneath my feet? Something I would recommend? Yes, for sure. A relativly small improvement, but cheap and easy to do. Next is the Panhard rod, lying on the garage floor ready to go in...

Robbie, I would agree it adds stiffness. You described it perfectly. You will notice the panhard rod much more. The anti tramp is maybe a bit over the top but but on very fast acceleration it helps. John

Thanks Robbie
I need to fit one. Like you say inexpensive and nothing to loose.

Yes RobCol, and well put Robbie, I would have said the same, but less well so. Just shy of 6 months ownership/driving, and 10,000 miles on, I do get a bit spirited at times, and I can attest to a marked difference in cornering hard whilst braking, and less skittishness up front when coming out. Would like to have done it sooner, still, many more (s)miles to go! Like you, I am waiting for the opportunity to fit the PR; sadly no garage so fine weather, and less fatigue need to be convergent! Antitramp bars are later, then I can get at the springs and hunt down the squeaky passengers 🤣

I was not expecting to notice much difference after fitting a Panhard rod to my Roadster, but the improvement in stability under hard acceleration is significant.

hmmm, been thinking about fitting the brake reaction bars perhaps I should consider the Panhard rod too. Only experience of the Panhard was fitting one to an MGB roadster that I converted to V8 back in the late 90's. Made a huge improvement.

Do you have both of them fitted to you Roadster John? Gary if you mean anti tramp bars just one on the drivers side.
