It's rose jointed at both ends Bob if that helps!

It's not that Dave,
It's that the rod is not acting directly on the axle U bolts but effectively though an offset lever.
Probably not enough to worry about but it's there nevertheless.
I'd be tempted to check the U bolt tightness from time to time just to make sure.

Silly question Dave, but how did you “compress” the spring to check the travel clearance? As I see from your pictures the leaf spring is fully (up) compressed, showing your neoprene pad pressed against the frame.

Hmm... 2 anti tramp bars, one Panhard rod and 2 leaf springs - almost 5 link suspension. It suggests that 5 link is the way to go....
I did ask Peter Ballard if he had considered full IRS for the Trads. He suggested that there simply isn't room... he is right, given the fascinating MMC Chassis design that goes below the back axle....

IcePack, in the pictures, the spring is either full rebound (down) or static running position, not compressed.
Bob, yes I understand there may be leverage, and I'll check tightness, because these things do loosen anyway! Plus the fact that I have the thinner U bolts, and six leaves means not much thread to play with.....................

Didn’t Peter Mulberry produce an indi suspension? Certainly for the front. There was an upgrade option kit. I think his personal Roadster was a test bed and was fitted out. It was sold not long ago and I saw the car at a Williams open day. Ray and myself chatted with the owner and we thought he might not have been fully aware of the car’s pedigree re upgrades.

I thought it was a Rob Wells development ?

I don't know the complete story but when I visited Mulfab years ago to get my sump skimmed, a Roadster was being built by Peter & Simon with innovative suspension at either end.
It was incomplete at that time.

It was incomplete at that time. I assume it’s the one a friend of mine bought, and it is now in the Warminster area. It is finished in Jaguar blue and was displayed at the Bristol Classic Car Show a few years ago. It has a 5 link rear and wishbone front. He is very pleased with it.

That sounds like the one. I had a look underneath the front end a few years ago when visiting Mulfab with Colin (Spanner Juggler).
