Have just read and donated to Tony, a little chap who is attempting to walk 10 Kms this month in aid of the hospital that saved his life. His target was £500, so far he is at £466K.

At 5 weeks, he suffered horrific abuse at the hands of his birth parents and nearly lost his life. Following treatment for multiple injuries, sepsis and toxic shock his recovery has left him with no left hip, amputated legs, problems with his hands and deaf in his right ear. Despite all of this, when he heard about Captain Tom he wanted to start his own challenge. Fantastic effort.

If anyone wants to donate to his page, you can find this at justgiving.com.

I have no connection with this other than just having read about Tony's story, shed a tear and made a donation.

Thanks David, I remember my No2 daughter and SIL telling all about this horrendous crime at the time as they live on Kings Hill and the whole village went into shock the fact this could happen on their doorstep. A heartbreaking tale and such a humbling tale that the little chap has such a great big heart it's the least we can do to chip in for his fund raise notworthy

David, I don't know if you caught the item on BBC Morning news today but Tony (Bear) and his parents had a 5 minute spot. Full story

The little Hero has raised £1,000,000 having set the initial target of £500.00 as you know.

He walked 12.5Km instead of the 10Km initial target in the month, he is an absolute star clap notworthy

Amazing. When you see what was done to him it puts our lives in perspective.

Absolutely John, it's upsetting and humbling in equal measures and makes you realise just how much we have to be thankful for thumbs.

Richard, thank you I did see it. Fantastic wasn't it, he seems a lovely little chap and what an amazing outcome.

As upsetting as his start in life has been, he has at least "found" some amazing parents now.
