Car passed it's CT (MOT) but was advised that one rear brake was binding and not immediately releasing. Living in rural France 2 hours from Morgan dealership wondered if anyone knows if any other car has same rear brake cylinder as Morgan. Have read here that you can use a Transit one which is smaller. but I would prefer to maintain original spec. Have tried' powertrackbrakes.co.uk' but they do not stock 2014 Morgan parts Any good ideas where I can source parts. Thanks

I've bought them from PowerTrack before - they even came in a genuine Lockheed box (before they became Caparo)

Yes the part number is AP/Caparo CW15953 or Lockheed/Delphi LW15953.

You may find this helpful. I did when I replaced mine 5 years ago and I used this outfit and they were AP/Caparo and good quality.

The Transit one did not fit my 2012 Plus 4. The body of it was too big. I didn't return it as the postage was about the same as the part...

For the correct part, Brown and Gammons did me proud... next day delivery and a good price for the proper part.. CW15953.

If you are really stuck, we are hopefully driving down to our place near Confolens (16500) on 23rd July... all being well and subject to government permission. It's a bit North East of you but not ridiculously... You could get the part delivered to me and I could stick it in the boot when we travel. The risk of course is that our trip gets cancelled..... PM me if you need my help.

Cheers
Nick

Also there is a classic car dealer in Saint Junien to the West of Limoges that has a Morgan sign on the outside. Never got round to visiting it properly yet but it may be able to help. It's not an official dealer I don't think. Berigaud I think is the name

Oh and I'd do both sides... I found my "good side" was as bad as the bad side in terms of rust and lack of movement.

Remove the cylinder, take off the dust covers, remove the pistons, clean them and the bore. Clean with brasso and clean carefully after. Apply a light smear of silicon grease to the seals, box up and test - I’ve never had a problem after although the first time, just after I bought the car the pistons were too rusty for this and I renewed them.

Gentlemen, thanks for the advice. Slightly confused in that most sites suggest CW 15953 applicable to Morgans up to 2012 only but assume that may because they have not updated their sites. However, will assume CW 15953 is correct part for 2014 +4 GDI unless someone says otherwise. Seems part available with ÂME and Powertrack so will order from there. Have looked for service kit for renovating old part when replaced but to no avail. Particular thanks to Nickplus4 for offering to bring part with him when he visits France. Suppose that’s what the Morgan community about. Thanks again
