Looking at the title of this thread I assumed that it was about Mr Ineos' new Americas cup yacht of the same name.

I very much doubt it. Jim Ratcliffe is no fool. I've been on the other side of the fence on projects with Ineos where people thought they knew better. They Didn't. Alex Salmond went home with his tail between his legs on more than one occasion.

I do wonder if Ineos will come to the same conclusion as Mr Dyson, that making money building cars isn't so easy.

There is a four page article on the Grenadier in the new Autocar. It claims that it's expected to be priced from £40 000 when it hits the market late next year.

Even with a ladder frame you can build safe(er) cars.

Ratcliffe has just purchased the remainder of BPs chemicals business for £5b.

https://www.ineos.com/news/ineos-group/ineos-to-acquire-bps-global-aromatics-and-acetyls-business/

He has an enviable ability to make the right business investment call at just the right time.
The Grenadiere name comes from his favourite pub in London, it is claimed by the media.

IMHO the vehicle looks just right, and with BMW (?) power and a flat screen perhaps MMC will do a nice ash framed coach built body on the chassis so they have a retro SUV........ hide

Yes he has pretty much a monopoly or duopoly supply position on some solvents across Europe.

I like it but am I alone in thinking that it looks like trim has already fallen off the bottom of the doors? Oh, and it's got a BMW engine so it must be good winky

Well I suppose there are more people prepared to get sucked in by a flood of advertising to buy a vacuum cleaner at £600 than there are to buy a utility vehicle at £60,000.
