I have recently found out that the standard fit M3W immobiliser key fob can loose its code if not used periodically, there is no battery in the fob. A spare key fob that had not been near the car for a year or so was tried and wouldn't deactivate the immobiliser. The fob normally used to start the car worked fine. The supplier was contacted and was more than happy to replace the fob for about £50. Not so much an issue if you have lost or damaged one but there was nothing physically wrong with it. Eventually they conceded that the fob could loose its code if not used occasionally and that it could be re-coded from the transponder under the steering cowl. There is a rather involved procedure for this that I can pass on if you PM me, it will be on the MTWC website soon. You do need to have at least one working fob for this to work. I suggest it would be a good idea to use all your fobs to start the car every 3 or 4 months. If all this fails you can always remove the immobiliser from the system by making and fitting an immobiliser jumper plug, as detailed on page 66 of the M3W parts list Ver 5.2 item C-47 on the RH side. You will also need an AMP Multilock 070 12 way male plug and pin set. Morgan could supply these at one time but don't seem to be able to now. I got my plug from www.simtekuk.co.uk and they were very helpful. With the jumper fitted the immobiliser is out of the system, handy for diagnosis as well as a small, light item to carry in your spares bag that may just come in useful one day?

Well they didn't say it would loose the code, just that it could. Just nice to know that they can be re-programmed if they do fail. This wasn't actually my car, both my fobs worked OK as well but I have heard of a few that have died.

+1 LightSpeed, it was just something else to go wrong. Who is going to steal it anyway.

+1 LightSpeed, it was just something else to go wrong. Who is going to steal it anyway. I think a hidden switch would be all that is necessary to stop a thief. I have had three cars stolen, one of them twice! None of them were stolen, sold, or stripped, they were just taken for a joy ride and run out of fuel or broken down. It is quite annoying to come out from wherever you may have been, whether dining out or sleeping, to find your favorite vehicle gone. I was siting on a beach with friends and saw my vehicle driving off and there was nothing I could do to stop it. Another vehicle was idling in front of the Post Office when a guy hopped into it with me about 15ft from the vehicle (1ton utility truck). He could not figure out the locking brake mechanism and kept stalling it. Rather than go to the driver side and have to confront the cretin or stNd in front of the vehicle I went up to the passenger window and tapped on the glass with the side of my .45ColtAutomatic; he got the message and left quickly. Having your vehicle stolen is not a good thing and if anyone is worried just put a switch under the dash that disables the starter.

Tapping the widow with a gun is not an option in UK. Why was the truck left running with nobody in it? A hidden switch is likely to stop an opportunist thief but maybe not if they have a little time. My insurer told me Morgans are rarely stolen & an immobilised does not reduce the premium. I would think an M3W was even less likely to be stolen

I was very cold blooded so it needed a warmup period, and I was 15ft from it. Don't you ever get out of your vehicle with the engine running? The idiot was a block and a half from the police station to add insult to injury.
The other three incidents the vehicle was completely stolen and a cutoff switch, which I added to the A.H. Sprite and the 1937 Ford Panel Delivery truck.

Years ago, I went to stay with a friend of my parents, a Philadelphia trial attorney. After we got out of his magnificent Cadillac (all fins and chrome) to see the courts in action, he flicked a switch under one of the front headlights.
"That electrifies the body. Great anti-theft device", he said.
I asked him whether he would be in trouble if someone got an electric shock.
"Only if it's another trial attorney."
