NEWS: It's the end of an era here at Pickersleigh Road. During the last few weeks, with a small number of craftsmen and women returning to work, we've completed build of the last ever Morgan four wheeler to be built on a steel chassis.
The final car, a Plus 4 70th Anniversary Edition, was completed last week, and is going to a Morgan customer who also owns prominent models including "TOK 258", the 1962 Le Mans winning Plus 4.
The legacy of the steel chassis lives on in the tens of thousands of Morgan cars to be underpinned by it, and we now look forward to an exciting new chapter for the company with our latest platform.
John, yup nice vid, though I suspect that the value of much will greatly alter during the Covid crisis and for some time beyond..? If one cares to add green political thinking and possible tax changes required as part of a recovery process, and on top of that it seems the yoof and a bit older have little to no interest in Trad purchase... I think that old ideas of marketing around the last of this that and the other will have little to no effect..?
BTW, I suspect my +8 to be amongst the LAST to exit the MMC with carb fuelling.... so that must make it worth a bazillion at least...
OK, OK, so I ever plan for the worst and hope for the best...BUT..?
Recent significant changes that (for a time) altered how I looked at my 4/4.
Charles leaving, so no longer a direct family involvement. (No disrespect to Steve M). Morgan majority shareholding being sold to an Italian company. And now, no longer a steel ladder chassis!
I’m rather glad that my 4/4 precedes all of the above events.
I’m in too minds. I love my trad and the heritage that goes with it...but the new one is a great drive in a modern way. Given the price I’m going to stick with my current car for now. The biggest thing for me about a Morgan is the way it looks and there is little to choose between the old and new.

I have some of those thoughts, but when I fell in love with the Plus 8 50 years ago now it stayed with me and it took 34 years to realise the dream and I still love it but within the very limited constraints of the ladder chassis such dream machines as we see below would never have emerged.
The Aeromax is the zenith of their production to my mind but I look forward to an even more exciting carriage from MMC in the near future as I happen to think the Italian influence will broaden the horizon imho.
I would have a Max in a heartbeat were it within the grasp of my pension fund I think they are absolute works of art.
I think HFS would be proud of such advances in engineering achievement too.
