Reading the thread about the new Plus Four; pride of ownership has been mentioned. So without wishing to to take that thread wildly off course, I thought that I would start a thread about the lovely reactions that come from owning a Morgan. Our most memorable was during one of our trips to France. Stopping in a car park outside a walled town, there were a line of four families, sharing a picnic. Their cars were parked in line, tailgates open, with picnic tables arranged together. On parking the 4/4, two of the children came over with their mum. They admired the Morgan and asked if they could take photos. Photos were duly taken, with each child sitting in the driving seat and wearing my flat cap. We were then invited to join their picnic. About an hour, several glasses of wine and some delicious food later, we finally walked off to explore the walled town. One of many stories I could recount and always a wonderful part of owning a Morgan. Bud 4/4 - Stanley

I had similar experiences in Italy. Repeatedly mums with kids were asking if it was ok to make photos with the 4/4 and their kids.
I'll never forget the sparkle in a girl's eyes, aged 8 or 9 years , when I invited her to take the drivers seat after her younger brother had been allowed to take the co-pilots seat for a picture.
The 3Wheeler worked like a mouse trap for Asian tourist ladies. Lots of fun in Vienna's city center...

Last September, we arrived at the Parador Santo Domingo de la Calzada, in Spain, just as a group of people were leaving from a meeting. One mature lady was very forward and I soon realised she wanted a photo with her in the driving seat. I was very happy to oblige but then found she was unable e to extract herself. So dignities to one side, I had to man- handle and scoop her out, much to the mirth of her compatriots who were clicking away with mobys. Next day, we met her with her family in a side street and I was greeted with arms round my neck like an old friend!

I'll never forget parking at Dartmouth Castle for a cup of tea when the car was deluged with 10 or so Slovakian students that absolutely loved the Plus 8 so of course I gave them a tour and they were so pleased I had let them take the drivers seat for photo opportunities. That's the very special thing about Morgan's they provide many opportunities to share the . On the occasions that I visit a care home and take a resident out that has a love for old cars it is a joy watching them enjoy the journey.

I suspect this may be another of these threads that may just run and run ad infinitum...? After circa 18 years of ownership I have more than one story as you might expect.. (-: I guess my favourite relates to a memorable trip in company with a Mclaren and others, which is a story in it`s self which I have bored others with on here and elsewhere before, though will cut it short (ish) for those new to the forum who might find interest in it. We had checked into our hotel, and met up in the bar with a view out over the bay and the car park. There was a small and young wedding group through in the lounge who then made their way out to the car park to grab some pics, there were a few tasty cars other than the F1, though they chose to pose alongside the Morgan sitting there with wearing it`s Tonneau. I dashed out and they spotted my approach the little group apologised and looked a tad apprehensive, whereas I removed the tonneau and invited the bride to take up residence in the drivers seat, and her Groom to sit behind the wheel, huge smiles all round while camera`s and phones recorded the happy scene.... quite made my day given I was presented with a flash of the brides blue garter as I held the door for her. I pointed to the then Million Pound McLaren and informed them of it`s rarity, they were none too interested, as our American cousins say.. Go Figure..! I had rushed out to catch them before they disappeared and as such I did not go up to the room to retrieve my camera....Duh..! ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/07/12/McLaren-and-Mog.jpg)

It seems to me reading these comments and and from my own experience that one of the unique things about Morgan's is the owners, we are a breed that likes to share the love of our vehicles with others. I always let people sit in the Morgan's wear the cloth helmet and goggles or take them for a short drive, especially children, the look of glee on their faces is a potion all of its own. On Morgans Over America everywhere we stopped we would be descended upon by lovely people and children wanting to share the experience. The only draw back was when you needed the bathroom rather urgently but didn't want to be rude in not talking to them

I was with friends at a hotel once, when we had to give First Aid to a Morgan owner..! It transpired that the luggage carrying capability of the car was being put to the test, but they were fine after a brief respite. We couldn't get it inside that car as we couldn't open the doors.. Morgans Make Memories don't forget.. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/07/12/fullsizeoutput_100d.jpg)

One of my favourites is glancing out of window in a NT house and seeing a woman bending over the cowl. At that distance I couldn't determine what she was doing but on returning to my car found the imprint of a lipsticked kiss. My other is that pulling in to a car park we heard an excited little boy exclaim. : Mummy mummy look, A very, very, very old car"

We arrived back at the car and found this family taking pictures. We let the children sit inside and the parents could not have been happier. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/07/12/IMG_5860-copy.jpg)
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Lots of similar stories in my time of course. One of my favourites is the time my wife and I were in France. We came out from a Church and as usual there were people around the car. But one couple from the far East asked if they could have a photo standing by the car. I said of course but there was alot of to ing and fro ing as I gradually realised they wanted a picture of me with my arm around the lady's waist looking as if we were about to get into the car. Weird. Luckily my wife thought it was amusing. Imagine showing your friends a photo of your holiday which is basically a stranger with his arms round your wife...... Nick
