I can remember a time when you were no one amongst the go faster guys if each of your wiper arms did not sport a group of three whale tails which supposedly increased the blade to screen pressure the faster the progress.... These days the baseball cap seems to be de rigueur amongst those who like to be identified as fast drivers, if you wear it back to front you must be REALLY fast...

I had those blades on the wiper arms though in black on my Audi coupe in 1985.

James Bit off topic but what is the switch on the top of the steering column cowl? Don't recall seeing one of those before.. after-burners perhaps?

My Aeromax journey.
I have a steadily growing list of items that require attention I hated mine the first year. Always something new broken/to be fixed/to be adjusted. Go to somebody serious. Breath and relax. And use it on a regular bases. From when I have all the first year pain fixed and started using it on a regular basis it started running like a charm with no issue whatsoever. A pure dream. You will soon fall in love again. I can bet it.

I have a steadily growing list of items that require attention I hated mine the first year. Always something new broken/to be fixed/to be adjusted. Go to somebody serious. Breath and relax. And use it on a regular bases. From when I have all the first year pain fixed and started using it on a regular basis it started running like a charm with no issue whatsoever. A pure dream. You will soon fall in love again. I can bet it. That exactly describes each new Mog I have ever bought. First year bits fall off etc. but once sorted and used regularly, all well. Nick

My Aeromax journey.
I have a steadily growing list of items that require attention. I am therefore wondering what views there are on getting work done at the factory, Melvyn Rutter or somewhere else.
Wiper blades, particularly the nearside one is splitting at both ends, seems to catch on the windscreen rubber. Any solutions?
The middle wiper appears to lack any strength, it barely tickles the screen when in use. Perhaps requires adjustment and tightening.
The windscreen rubber itself has perished and taken a small section of paint with it. I'm being advised glass out job to touch up paint and redo the rubber trim, probably resulting in broken glass. New windscreen would be needed and I'm not sure on availability of screens. Leather trim inside appears to be glued to windscreen, that will need to be considered by the removers and fitters.
Bodywork that holds the front number plate has clearly taken a small knock which I never noticed until I washed the car, so that needs repairing.
Interior leather trim that covers the lower rear glass screen latches has come away and seems only to be attached by sticky back plastic.
Also one latch on the lower part of the nearside rear screen doesn't actually meet the hole in the metal... eek!!!
Found a foot long thin black rubber tube in the footwell when rummaging - no idea where that goes.
Apart from the above, everything mechanical is in fine fettle.
Alex Windscreen rubber - I'm not sure it is a conventional rubber beading, so much as a black mastic fixative. It certainly looked that way on mine. The factory can no doubt advise on whether the damaged section(s) and any sections that need removing for access for a paint repair, can simply be cut out with a blade and carefully made good with new mastic. Personally, I'd try to avoid the screen out/new screen route - far too much potential for f*ck up. A tip on your front number plate mount bodywork fix. If the issue is that the (plastic) numberplate pedestal has been pushed back and dented the metal front spoiler section, then wait until your next air filter change is due and the wings and front section come off at service. Otherwise you'll be paying a body shop to remove this (and alignment with the wings on reassembly is very tricky to get right). I used to borrow my front panel whilst my car was being serviced, and take it to a dent/chip repair service, and then return it and let the dealer reassemble it. The shape/aero means they get lots of stone dings. I hope you enjoy the car - they are very special. Don't expect it ever to be perfect - it was a triumph of ambition for Morgan and had lots of unresolved issues. Have you discovered the rear boot release warning light that never goes out?

The point re the paint marks on the upright front and also base of the rear wheel arches is a good one. The paint protection film on mine is mostly invisible and has kept it in excellent condition. Worth a look if your car does not have it. The factory have a contractor who fits it for them and does a very good job considering the complexity of the shapes.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

My preference is to sort jobs at service time so they don’t build up. Ledgerwood just replaced a wiper blade (Bosch £21) rear view mirror and sorted loose door card.
