Number One Son accompanied me as navigator and I let him drive the parade lap at the end of the day.

I'll bet that felt good and well done letting your son have a go, it's all about the sharing isn't it that brings the joy.

Goodwood is always buzzing when we go for FOS or Revival this looks quite spooky and a little sad especially this weekend.

And of course the view of the docks was fun

That looks a good run John, the size of that container vessel, we see a lot going by out of our window but the perspective is lost.

Yes Richard they are enormous. If you think each container is 2 m tall & carries 18 tons if full you start to get some perspective, don't forget the containers go right down into the hull so you only see roughly half of them.. To the right of the photo is a cafe & in more normal times we would walk say 6 km to it along the beach & have lunch outside watching the ships. For now the cafe is closed but they have an ice cream stall open.
If you are lucky you can see the tugs maneuvering them onto the berths.

But the really amazing part is the speed the ships travel at on open water.

A mere 24 miles round trip to see aged parents.
Still on the same tank of petrol as at the end of March.

At least we are now planning longer journeys - one at the end of this month for a long weekend and another in August for a week away to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

Finally got the old Morgan fired up and headed out for the first time this year, being the wrong side of seventy and thus living within the 5 mile click and collect bubble restrictions since the start of lockdown, finally got a break in the weather for the first time since the lights changed to green just over a week ago .

By the time I was ready to rock it was much later in the day than my usual very early morning runs, fired up no problem, no issues other than the clutch driven plate was obviously stuck to the flywheel or pressure plate again, given I had freed it off a month or so back during one of my usual engine runs.. Fired up in gear and a dab on the brakes freed the plate then headed out in the warmth of the sun.. (-: The country roads were busier than I have ever seen them, cyclists a plenty creating long snakes of traffic, fortunately I suspect the majority of the motorists were just out to enjoy a run in the sun so no frustration evident. Managed circa 40 miles which was a welcome reminder of the enjoyment that time behind the wheel of a Morgan brings. I am looking forward to covering more than the 150 miles I managed last year...!!!

Keeping fingers crossed that lock down does not return any time soon.
