I would stress please at least test drive one. I am assuming you haven't. I think it is a great car.

A test drive in both is a good idea but the auto is a fantastic car.

I agree, but since the cars are not type approved yet the circumstances are a bit unusual. Irespecrive of this I fell in love with the gold one. :-) Video: Golden Moogie

In the Plus Six I felt that the car was to jnpredictable and a bit scary with the automatic, and it also anoyed me that it was constantly changing gears. Mind you I intend to use the car as a GT more than an out and out sportscar.
I havent driven both cars. In fact I havent driven a Plus 4 at all. But I did own for over a year an F type Jag with the same auto box and that why I bought the latest Fezza with a manual. What has happened is that modern cars have been given 8 or even 9 auto gears for the sole reason of fuel economy. The result is that these boxes are no fun at all in manual - not only do you not know which gear you are in most of the time, but there often is a choice of 3 or even 4 gears that will work OK at a given speed. So you end up, if you are like me, driving it just as you would an old Borg Warner 3 speed slush box. It becomes a 2 seater version of the family saloon and no fun. Even the old single cluthch flappy paddle jobbie of the F430, Ason Vantage and Lambo was preferable with fewer gears and you could feel it doing the change.

Good point Howard. Using the paddles on the plus four Felt pointless and I was never sure which gear I should be in. I wasn’t sure why but I think you put you finger on it with the point on about so many gears. It did feel great in auto however.

I accompanied my daughter on a couple of test drives recently on a VW T-Roc.
The box was a VAG group 7 speed DSG rather than the 8 speed ZF used by MMC (and so many other cars nowadays), and it was very impressive indeed. Even in fully auto mode it seems to anticipate the next command easily , the revs were biased towards the lower end, but using the "sport" mode brought on a different character. If I was in the market for a new car I would be sorely tempted to go auto.
Once the hybrid trend accelerates we will all be driving autos as everyday cars anyway.

hello, does someone knows if the PlusFour manual gearbox is a "GS6-17BG" or a "GS6-45BZ" Getrag model please ? I try the automatic PlusFour last week and I miss the manual shift charm... The new plusFour is a lot, a lot more confortable and esay to enter (becomes improtant when becoming old... or fat ) Faster, more "attached" to the road, more powerfull... maybe power a bit too linear in oposition of the on/off mode between 5000 and 7000 rpm of a GID clubsport remap... remark this is more probably an impression I guess, impression due to the GDI motor noise at those rpm and the additional control needed to fight with lot of movement of the car with the original legacy frame and suspension ! The only strange felling was the brake pedal that need to be push 5 cm before the brake enter in action... Was it just for the car that I have tested or did someone else also notice the same behaviour please ? Now thinking if I play and win at Euromillion to move to the new PlusFour or if I follow some died to continue to enter in the GDI Dada 2016 GDI, CS rempap, sport exhaust & 65 mm throtlebody.

The manual I drove felt like the brakes needed bleeding. The auto version had firmer brakes but they squealed like hell. I understand the brake calipers are unique to MMC. I wasn't happy with either.

Just heard a manual Plus Four being driven out of Allon White's showroom for a test drive. That was also squealing like a pig. I also found the brakes on KH manual demonstrator needed a couple of pumps to get a firm pedal.
