Do you remember when: If your battery was flat you used the starting handle: If the car won't start it was simply that the points were closed: Windows were opened by a handle on the door: No engine management system to bombard you with unnecessary details: Parts were compatable: You could tow without problems: No parking problems: No speed cameras: Petrol was affordable and a garage attendant would fill you up: Driving was a pleasure rather than a game of cat and mouse with the authorities: Ahhh thoes were the days.
Why is there only one monopolies commission??

I remember three gallons for under £1.
I also remember front wheels coming off Minors and Heralds.
I remember dangerous rusted structures, and criminally negligent MOTs.
Smoke filled pubs and offices, and drunk drivers.
On balance, even though the roads are stupid busy, I would say things have improved.
Dog shite is still a problem though.

BR Colin To be honest I can get a set of 4 x NGK BPR6ES for just over £8 now. In real terms, that is cheaper then they were in 1975.

£1 was a good night out with 8 pints or 7 pints and a fish supper on the way home. Now a decent fish supper is probably about twice the cost of the pint and the 7 pints (not that I could handle that now) and fish supper will be the best part of £30.

Not certain if I am old enough to add anything here? Cadburys Fudge for 3p ?
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
