Well here I am again. I owned my first Morgan, a 1983 4/4 4 seater between 1994 and 1999, when it had to be sold to pay school fees! My daughter promised me then that she would one day replace it for me. Well, that never happened, and a couple of weeks ago, whilst casually browsing Classic Cars for Sale, I saw a car advertised by Berrybrook that looked fabulous. So the next morning, I drove down to view. I Instantly knew it was the one, and bought it. She is a 1980 build, first registered in 01/01/1982. I feel very fortunate to own this car; it had been bought by the previous owner in 1996 as a complete wreck, he brought it home, rotten, and in pieces, on the back of a trailer. He built a workshop, and over the next six or seven years completely rebuilt the car, doing everything himself. Everything was dismantled, new ash frame, engine, gearbox, back axle rebuild, everything. I would say it is better than new. The 1600 crossflow, with twin choke Webber and the Morgan airbox, is a work of art. The workmanship is exemplary. He even made and veneered the new walnut dashboard. Sadly, as he finished the car, his health deteriorated, and was only able to travel 2500 miles in the car before it was laid up - the last MOT was 2004. His widow, unable to part with the car, kept it until early this year, when it was acquired by Berrybrook, who having recommissioned it, promptly had to go into lockdown, so it was only very recently advertised. If I didn't move quickly, I am certain someone else would have beaten me to it. I look forward to showing it off once we can all get back on the road.

Welcome back - looks lovely! The old crossflow is a cracking little engine (although may be a little biased ) I'll be driving through Somerset Thursday/Friday (overnighting in Glastonbury) - if you see a red 4/4 4 seat, give me a wave!

A very warm welcome back into the Morgan fold. I think I saw some pictures on FB of your car?
Is your avatar taken in Cheddar Gorge ? We have friends in Westbury Sub Mendip so are regular visitors to your part of the world. You have some super Morgan friendly roads.
In the days when we had an eligible car (our previous 4/4 was a 1985) we used to enter the Mendip Tour. I always loved the drive round Somerset and the finish on Wells Cathedral Green.

Avatar is indeed Cheddar - it's a 'stock' one from the group page - I chose it because I look at Cheddar from my house. Couldn't actually work out how to post my own pic!

You need to add a picture to the TM image gallery or another online gallery. You can then link the URL.
