Or suspension. Or brakes. It is probably very dangerous to drive fast. Where's your sense of adventure? I lost it driving disco tdi in Bucks

I must admit to having only driven a Land Rover once and in it's proper home across farm land and it was awful. Can't see the attraction.
Here for a good time not a long time!! Reg

My friend had a late 90 County and the ride was horrible, in the sense that it was vary hard and jarring. That's not to say I wouldn't have one. Maybe not now though.
On the other hand I drove an early Range Rover on Salisbury Plain, over fields, through hedges, down muddy lanes etc etc. Not a proper course, just farmland, but that was excellent. Even across ploughed fields. But on the road I would get bored with it quickly.

Some years ago I was invited to the launch of the Range Rover Sport. The day involved various trials around the Gaydon Test Centre. At first we were taken in convoy off road. `We were then driven around a fast track at about 100-120 MPH by their test driver. The car stank of petrol and at speed felt very unstable. We were then supposed to drive ourselves around the track one party at a time. We were awaiting our turn when it was announced that the car whose turn was before ours had rolled and an ambulance was on its way, The test track was then closed. The organisers then simply bussed us back to the car park without so much as an apology and that was that. As a result I have never since even looked at another Range Rover/Land Rover product. I never will.
