I intend to use my M3W on a very regular basis, meaning that it will probably end up in all sorts of weather. Will the leather be ruined after just once being soaked in rain, be stained or damaged in any way? Is it recommended to treat/impregnate it at delivery (very much like a horse saddle)?

How are you treating your leather seats to make them age with beauty?

Should not be a problem if you care for it properly.
Anyone who has a Mog with leather upholstery will have faced the same problem.

You will find lots of different recommendations and solutions but a good quaity leather 'food' should prevent any problems.
I use 'Renapur' but I'm sure you will get a lot of other suggestions
best wishes

Like you I use my Morgan (4/4 Sport)in all weathers and find that treating all the interior leather with Saddle Soap annually, keeps it supple and is as you suggest an excellent waterproofing agent. It takes a bit of working in but lasts, I used it on a Plus 8 previously and it stood the test of time.
Enjoy your 3W when she arrives. love

Regards
Richard

In what specific way(s) do you consider it superb? Is other available leather really waterproof? How about durability of the leather and seat cushion material (foam, horsehair... ?) of both types of leather if they were to get wet occasionally? Also, could rain and other water cause damage to electronics, instruments, wiring, or cause floor pan rust, etc.? Or, has Morgan designed their cars to be impervious to the elements?

distressed get RUINED by water, really, don't "spec" that
(MMC won't imho)

I got a reply from my dealer stating that there is no difference in Sport versus Bespoke leather other than color choices.

The quality is the same.

While it's on my mind, I also compiled a list of Bespoke leather colors show in the online "Showroom."

Here they are, listed as they appear from left to right by row:

Top Row
1 Black
2 York
3 Cinnamon
4 Brecon
5 Globe
6 Biscuit
7 Forge
8 Lombardy Atlantic
9 Ferndale

Bottom Row
10 Cranberry
11 Romeo
12 Mulberry
13 Scarlet
14 Pink
15 Jaffa
16 Conway
17 Lime
18 White

Now, here's a question that comes to mind. If the quality of Sport and Bespoke leathers is the same, why choose Bespoke Black leather over Sport Black leather for significantly more money?

my assumption would be that sport and bespoke couldn't be mixed. Sport seems like its geared towards you paying X amount and you get these few options, where bespoke would mean that you can pick and choose from a vastly larger grouping of options. Not sure if they will allow you to get the bespoke leather on a sport model and pay the sport price, assume it would be the bespoke price if you did this. Can anyone verify this?

I had thought you could order Sport paint and pay extra for Bespoke leather, for example. No?

My comment was purely speculative, I assume the way you are proposing would make sense as well.

Morgan France got troubles with distressed leather when it got wet with rain on a seat side, it showed non removable marks and since then they refuses to sell it again.

Like Steven, I had distressed leather (black) from Muirhead in my AeroMax. It did get wet (it's a Morgan!), but did not show a watermark.
My current Aero SS has distressed tan leather from the other Morgan supplier and it has got soaking wet on several occasions, again it has not left a watermark in fact it's ageing imho even better than the Muirhead leather!

I have not heard any adverse comment, similar to the French Morgan agent, about distressed leather; nor from the factory. I believe the leather to be used on the 3W is from Muirhead and as such, personally I don't foresee a particular problem. cheers
