So this post is inspired by Kev, and it's not often I can say that.

This really started when the MGOC advertised some ZS centre armrests for sixty odd pounds. I talked about this to Kev, and he used a generic armrest in his SS. So I looked on E Bay and bought a generic item for £16.
This does fall into the same category as the toolbox. Many people have built their own. Some have used generic armrests. Dealers will sell you a nice leather one at eyewatering cost.
Now the one I bought is black plastic with a faux leather padded top. It comes with fittings which are useless in the Morgan, and it also hinges from the rear. This is also useless in the Morgan because the seats get in the way, so the top needs to lift off.
Surgery required is complex, involving a total strip down and a lot of Dremel work. I thought long and hard about how to fit this, because I want to switch it between my Morgans. In the end I used some spare stainless steel, shaped as a saddle. I didn't have enough black leather to cover the underside, so I used brown, which amused Kev no end. I also found that I needed a camping mat buffer to hold the saddle in place.

Here you can see a tiny flaw in the leather which I patched. It doesn't show with the armrest in place.

This is the armrest unit once I had removed the swivel base.

Here you can see that I had to make a lift bracket for the front, and a locater plate at the rear.

For what this cost, no more than £20, it looks Ok, and will do the job........
