TBM ... I have a magnet that can lift a small anvil that I drag through the gravel and muck to retreive lost bits .... fine til it's stainless  Worthwhile scavenging one out of an old loudspeaker for such times. K Good plan - there's a ton of washers and stuff down there Much is stainless, but this screw isn't.

No, watched it fall. I'm working outside on a scrabby bit of concrete, covered it tree detritus. Normally I put a bit of tarp down, but not today! Thankfully the base plate of the FOMOCO Dizzy pretty much covers the innards completely with only one small hole, so it would be very unlucky for it to drop down there. You can see the plate in this picture - the hole at 9 o clock has a wires/grommet in so it's just the small hole below it. The rest is well covered. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/07/28/s-l1600.md.jpg) Been outside to double check for piece of mind though and no, its not there. The Distributor Doctor does only do Lucas, and I've tried the place where I got the Leccy conversion from, but their modern distributors are all Metric so the screws won't fit. Mine are about 4mm, but not M4. Great news, sods law ruled my mechanical life 🤣 BR Colin

Got a welding magnet so thought I'd give it a go - picked up lots of washers and stuff but no joy. Had a good ferret around to see if it was sat on a chassis rail or caught in the engine mount bracket but again nothing, Then, managed to get my little finger into one of the casting voids on top on the oil pump housing and there she was!!!! Managed to 'magnetise' a small screwdriver to stick in the gap and got her out. I knew that would happen immediately after ordering a replacement, but one can never have too many spares

Yep, but think of the satisfaction of having resolved the mysterious disappearance .... I'm sure it's some dark reflection on my early childhood but, if it were me, I'd have lain awake tonight wondering where it went!! K

Well done. I have a Halfords extending rod which you can fit mirrors or a magnet to. It is godsend to find those dropped bits.

It must be the day for electronic ignition conversions, I'm putting a Boyer Bransden unit into the Bonneville. Good conversion that Tim!

👍 had one on the A65L made a huge difference on a bike only used every now and again.

You do know that the missing set screw only allowed itself to be found because it knew you had spent money on a replacement.

Likely to be a BA size. Nearest to 4mm is 3BA but 4BA a more common size.
