Just over 8000 km (and under 5000 miles) and delivery one year ago the first week in August, I have a cracked windscreen on my 4/4 Sport. It appeared one morning a week ago after sitting in the garage overnight. My dealer is in contact with the factory for hopefully a solution under warranty. Have read on the forums of other owners having the same problem. Wonder if the factory has come up with a solution and modification and not just replacement?
Regards to all, Doug

So much for factory warranties, factory refuses to deal with cracked windscreen. Maybe my choice of enjoyable automobiles needs to be reassessed.

So much for factory warranties, factory refuses to deal with cracked windscreen. Maybe my choice of enjoyable automobiles needs to be reassessed. I'm sorry if I'm repeating stuff I've said before- and if you bought the car through a dealer n France, then what I say won't apply - but the primary responsibility is with the dealer NOT the manufacturer. It goes without saying that as a first port of call you should try negotiation rather than litigation but if you have- and it hasn't worked- the dealer is your first resort. Factory 'Warranties' cannot l;essen or reduce your normal stautory rights. I say this without in any way seeking to support what is- on the evidence you supply- a pretty blinkered approach from MMC GLLHG

The dealer, Brand Hatch Morgan, was very responsive but was told by the factory that it would not be covered. So, I have contacted the factory direct and got a response that someone will get back to me concerning the problem. Will be interesting to see if the story changes. Doug

No doubt you will have seen my Problem on the forum.. I sent photos of mine to the dealer and factory, spoke to the Factory direct ..my car a 2011 Plus 4 was only 3 weeks old and had done 700 miles. The windscreen cracked in the top left hand corner while standing on the drive . No joy with the Factory at all..They expected me to pay for a new one and then have the other sent back to the manufacturer for inspection.. I also spoke to the glass manufacturer(Googled the Name on the screen.) and could get no information from them other than they will only supply to Morgan direct..Not even to windscreen companies. The cost fitted was £895 including VAT. .A closed shop it would seem for the Heated screens with Frame complete. After several months of Protesting I took the easy way out through my insurance.. The Factory insisted that there is no problem with the Plus 4 and roadster screens only the 4/4 sport.

Well its interesting they admit to a problem with the 4/4 Sport ones. I must remember that if mine goes! Shame they can't admit that gear chatter in the Sports gearboxes is an ongoing problem as well!

On my sons 4/4 sport the windscreen cracked twice and it was replaced under warranty by the dealer. It is unbelievable what junk the factory delivers. I now understand why the british motor industry has left the building......

I have no views either way re Brands Hatch Morgans, never having dealt with them but let's be absolutely clear on this- it is not a case of the dealer checking with th Factory and then following the Factory line. The primary responsibility lies with the dealer themselves and if the Factory won't then play ball it is for that dealer to take it up with the Factory as to the re-imbursement of replacement costs The dealer CANNOT use the fact that the Factory refuse to repalce to avoid their own statutory obligations. Rant over G

My July 2009 Sport 12,500mls cracked (not impact related) under warranty but I was advised by my Agent (reliable) to claim on insurance. Although I wasn't overwhelmed with the reply it was a solution as I thought, this occurred end of May and the agents are still awaiting delivery of the new screen which is pretty abysmal really. I have dealt with this agent for 8 years through +8 ownership and have found them most reliable. One can only hope the factory or windscreen suppliers endeavour to extract the digit before May 2012 !!!

Hello Doug, same issue here: I had a cracked windscreen on my 4/4 Sport (delivery Dec 2009). It appeared one morning a after sitting in the garage overnight (Feb 2010). The windscreen cracked in the top left hand corner because of the frame being too tight. Issue got immediately acknowleged by Malvern factory and whole screen and frame replaced under guarantee within 4 weeks by the Swiss dealer. I did not pay a single buck. Sorry to hear that handling through dealership/factory of such an issue is so inconsistent.
