There's a lot of misinformation on tis being peddled by the fossil fuel industry (notably the lovable Koch brothers)

"it’s a false dichotomy to suggest that because of child labor, we shouldn’t use electric cars. Children aren’t being put to work because of electric vehicles. Children are being put to work because of a global economic system that exploits the poor and the vulnerable. It’s also misleading to say that because children are being exploited for one product, we should necessarily use another product. "

I assume that was Steve's point, the inferior system will prevail.

If anyone has a spare (not)dead VHS machine and does not need it I have a good home for it.

A friend has a group that offers support for autistic children and it has a massive library of thomas the tank engine VHS videos. The children like repeating the videos and the machines wear out. I have a standing order with the local recycling centre and they have produced a few working ones but alas they tend to die fairly quickly given the age of them all.

If you are within the area of Reading/Winchester/Newbury/Basinggrad/Fleet I would be very happy to collect and offer a bottle of good red/white/fizz.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

About 6 years ago I managed to find a vhs/dvd machine that can copy across. Funar make. I bought it to copy vhs to DVD as we have many family stuff on Vhs. I have done a few but got lots to do still. Our original vhs machine died so I wanted to get the copy ability when replacing it to have the dvd or vhs options rather than straight replacement.
I need to crack on with more copying so wecan clear out the vhs stuff.

PM me if you ever head up to Oxford. I have a high-end Panasonic (well, better than consumer grade anyway - has a bona fide heat sink out the back!) VHS I 've just finished using for digitizing family VHS tapes (a whole other story involving a Win XP USB video digitizer, driver searches to install on Win10, and an amazingly decent free video capture program from OBS). Would love for it to go to a good home!
